Anderson & Brannan win at Brannon
Delta Semi-Pro Teams - 3/27/04
24 teams blasted off to a beatiful morning on the California Delta. The tide was high in the morning and moved out all day. From talking with the anglers, the bite was very good, and a lot of fish were caught. Most fish came on senkos, spinnerbaits, and topwater. It was easy to see that big bags were going to be weighed in, and when it came time for the weigh-in, they were just that.
In 5th place was the team of Brad and Nick Stone, with 17.18 pounds. That finish was enough to put them in 5th place in the overall standings for the year.
In 4th place was Mike Birch and Rob Larabee with 18.05 pounds. That keeps them right up there in 4th place in the overall standings.
In 3rd place was Jason and Joe Cornell with 19.79, moving them all the way to the top in the year-to-date standings.
In 2nd was Paul Howard and Gabe Sanchez with 20.26 pounds, putting them in a tie with the Cornells for first place points in the year-to date standings. The Cornells have a bigger big fish, so they remain in first place.
And you winners, Jim Anderson and Gus Brannan take home the win today with 21.06 pounds! Great job guys, that puts you back into the top 20 after a tough finish last event. Nice turnaround!
The next event for the Delta Semi-Pro Teams is April 17th out of Big Break Marina. Make sure you be aware that HWY 160 will be closed until 5 am all through the month of April. See you all out there!
