style, I've always tried to surf like him. Check the floater he does in the DK section of
Friends of None, and his backhand session at Blackrock in "Blast Off", which was
my biggest inspiration to go bigger waves backhand as a grom. Raffi Meyer kills it too, he
surfs like a combination of Roach and his older bro Kai, who used to get a bit of coverage
in the seppo mags. Kyle M. goes off too, really spontaneous. I don't think Ballard is that
good, he always looks like he's out of control and about to fall off any second, he does
rip though. Mason Rose and Chris Apps (good name that) are good too, Mason's air reverses
are sick. Justin Pedersen and Bill Evans have influenced me too. Oh, and Manny Vargas, he
does some hell carves. I've got a lot more respect for Chris Won after his Pipe pit, those
multiple stand up spins he used to do really shit me! It made him look like a grovelling
kook, now he's showed the world what he can do so good on ya Chris, just don't do those
f#cking spins any more huh?"
