Placed in the film entirely for the purpose of comic relief, I found Jar Jar to be a somewhat useless character. He is a member of the aquatic race called the Gungans which reside on the planet of Naboo. They live in an underwater city and are ruled by the main Gungan leader. The long, floppy ears are a prominant characteristic of a Gungan. In the end of the movie, Jar Jar rounds up his fellow race and they help to defeat the Dark Side by battling them on Naboo. Will Jar Jar be back in the 2nd movie?? Who knows?
