To all of you who have been skating for at least ten years, you would know the history of all the ramps and things that go to make up the Beenleigh skate park. For those who don't know, this place is almost like the retirement village of old ramps or portable skate parks. From the Paradise Rd "Skate Barn" in Woodridge to many other locations of previous ramps, Beenleigh has welcomed many old constructions and given them a new surface, coat of paint and a whole new life, just so the skaters now can still enjoy what we all grew up on. With all the add ons, this would have to be the biggest skate park I have ever been to.

Among all the ply and metal constructions, there is still a fair amount of virgin obstacles at the park. The fabled bitumen, yellow painted bank box in the middle, often named "Johanna" has been the testing ground for many up and coming skaters, eg Ben Ventress 360 flip right over from end to end about 2 to 3 years ago and look where he is now... There has been a tight old bowl there since the 80's that still manages to make pics in mags and videos every so often. There is a series of bitumen bumps, like a row of camels, another smaller bank box with a rail going down one side, a concrete block, a big long double grind rail... This place really has it all, not to mention the ramps. Half pipes in 10ft, 8ft, a tight 7ft, many quarters of varying sizes and the best one, a 5ft spine with very easy curves and a smooth metal surface all round.
