Welcome to: Benny's Brisbane Skateboard Directory The site for skaters in Brisbane, Australia Compiled by Mark Brimson   James f/s flip the hip in the late afternoon   Gatton Skate Park   Gatton (1 1/2 hours drive west of Brisbane)   There have been a long list of regional towns and places that have been the lucky owners of brand new skate parks of late. One that has been there for a while now is the park at the southern end of Gatton. As the town is not that big, the easiest way to get to the park (from Brisbane) is go down the main road and turn left at the traffic lights (the main street will start on the right), going past KFC, a very tasty pie shop and other public buildings. The road will take you straight there and you can park in the dirt beside it, or on the road beside a little shop on the top of the hill overlooking the park and lake. There are toilets close enough and a water tap not too far away. Beware the inland heat though.   Even though the park is a little small, there are still some good lines and with a bit of imagination, this place could keep you occupied for quite a while. A bitumen bump runs round the top of the park in the shape of the number 3. There is a very mellow banked hip at the far end and a fairly good if not a little narrow quarter hip that a lot of people like.
