Nambour
Skate Park
Nambour
(1/2 hour in from Sunshine Coast and 2 1/2 hours drive from Brisbane)
It
is on the corner of Petrie
Park Rd and Elder St (in Petrie Park easily
seen from the intersection of these roads) The main road to get there winds
through Nambour as does the train line. There is a skate shop on the main
road and to get to the park, you have to go under the train line and wind
round the park a little way before you will see the sacred site.
This
is another example of an old skate site getting
a big facelift and in this case, a whole new park. Like Woodridge, they
left the old bowl where it was and built around it. There is also a mini
ramp there now which suposedly rivals the old metal Paddo ramp in quality
and skateability. A good sized quarter pipe runs round most of the park,
with a big bank/hip combination at one end and a bank fun box in the middle.
In one place, the quarter fades away to two block steps which are good
for grind or gap tricks. There is also a little grind rail and some humps...
