Welcome to: Benny's Brisbane Skateboard Directory The site for skaters in Brisbane, Australia Compiled by Mark Brimson     Newmarket Skate Park   North Brisbane   Built: 1980's   Address: Alderson Street (Newmarket Pool Complex)   The idea of having skate parks in pool grounds never really took off here the way it did in the southern states, but this one has been there ever since I started skating. I have been there a couple of times, many years ago, but do not know what is going on there at the moment. As far as I know, there are still ramps and a street area there, but as for cost of entry, times of opening and how the place is, I have no idea.   When we did go there, I thought it was one of the strangest things I had ever seen when looking at skate ramps. All the ramps were made from a bright blue plastic, very bouncy when rolled over, and quite slippery if you went the wrong way. There was a half pipe, with coping that stuck out more than any other ramp I had ever skated on. The street area consisted on a snake run down a hill and a flat slab of concrete with a quarter at one end, a roll over in the middle and either a wall ride type of thing or a flat wall, (I know it was something strange, though!)
