The
idea of having skate parks in pool grounds
never really took off here the way it did in the southern states, but this
one has been there ever since I started skating. I have been there a couple
of times, many years ago, but do not know what is going on there at the
moment. As far as I know, there are still ramps and a street area there,
but as for cost of entry, times of opening and how the place is, I have
no idea.
When
we did go there, I thought it was one of the
strangest things I had ever seen when looking at skate ramps. All the ramps
were made from a bright blue plastic, very bouncy when rolled over, and
quite slippery if you went the wrong way. There was a half pipe, with coping
that stuck out more than any other ramp I had ever skated on. The street
area consisted on a snake run down a hill and a flat slab of concrete with
a quarter at one end, a roll over in the middle and either a wall ride
type of thing or a flat wall, (I know it was something strange, though!)
If you are out that way and feeling ambitious, go in and see for yourself,
but please drop me a line and tell me what there is there nowdays.
