Toowoomba
Skate Park
Toowoomba
(2 hour drive west of Brisbane)
Situated
in a fairly small park beside the main roads
(Hume St and
cnr of Chalk Dr) this place is easy enough to see from the road and surrounding
areas. The car park does cost to park (about 20 cents an hour last checked)
so take some small change with you when you go there. There is a fair bit
of free parking further down the street if you don't want to spend all
your lunch money. It is close enough to the main shop and business centre,
(including a decent skate shop) and everything else is right there from
what I can recall. Even some decent street terrain...
The
main attraction is a rather large metal mini
ramp (7ft) with some nice matching extensions (8ft) at one end. It is separated
from the concrete street area by a banked seating arrangement which forms
the back of the big quarter that faces a bank box and then the bowl at
the end. Other features include a spine, grind box with ajustable height,
other bank to box grind rail arrangements and some simple but fun concrete
structures that you will have to go see for yourself to understand fully.
