X-Fest
1999
X-Fest
was a local festival event held over a few
days and being run primarily by a church organisation. As far as I know,
it was not an anual event and will probably not be happening at all in
the future.

Run down of the day *****
There
was a skateboarding part of the X-fest, held
not so long ago at the Springwood State High
School, on the playing field there. The Toolbox
people helped them out by providing a ramp for them to have their little
comp and general skate for the day. We built it at the Toolbox
shed, had a couple of rolls on it to make sure it was ok, loaded it on
the back of a truck and kissed it goodbye.
After
we got the ramp set up just right, skaters
had a bit of a mad snake session before a little comp was held. Issac judged,
I did mic and everything went down quite smoothly. The results got lost
in all the fun of the rest of the day, but I think a local called "Dave"
got first in senior, with Lil' Jay getting the junior winner place. These
are some pics from that day...

Issac
Brown is the local from the Toolbox,
the man behind the show, you could say. From time to time he stops running
things and has a bit of a skate. It just goes to show he has the know how
and the skill to back it all up.

Colin
Kaye turned up and had a bit of a skate. I think he liked the ramp we made.
When he does skate, he doesn't do anything in halves. Check it out!
