I just want to say to all my fellow KB conasuirs, I am a college student at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Now, typically Flagstaff is called "Swagstaff" due to the not so good commercial weed found here. But I don't smoke much commercial weed Only kind. I've always found it quite intriguing(sp?) that we as a society will legalize harmful substances, such as cigarettes and alcohol, knowing that these "drugs" can kill you, however, marijuana, which has so many benefits, is looked at as a harmful drug and i illegal. All drug laws passed in the United States (this is coming straight from a college Sociology book) were all racist laws. Opium laws were passed in order to raid Chinese Immigrant farms and areas in the 1870's. Cocaine laws were passed as anti lack laws in order to arrest and raid the blacks in the 1900's. Marijuana laws, as you said, were also ways to oppress and destroy the Mexican migrant workers in the 30's. Even the laws on psychedelics of the 60's were a way to let the government punish individuals and groups opposed to the government's involvement in Vietnam. Alcohol and Nicotine, which are life threatening, are legal because of lobbyists and the fact that alcohol and tabacco companies are great political contributers. As to my knowle ge, no real big offenders have been high while murdering, or raping. Persons in jail for marijuana crimes don't belong in prison. Many states are talking about over crowding in prison, yet they can't seem to figure out a solution to the problem, even th ugh the obvious solution lies in drug laws. Set free the inmates who were busted with either being under the influence or having posession of marijuana, and there would be no problem. I don't know if what i just wrote is already knowledge to you, but it s time for people to understand what exactly is going on with marijuana laws and to stop being fed a bunch of lies and bullshit that our country and many other countries are feeding our youth. Cannabis is probably the most economicly sound plant in the w rld. I won't take up any more of your time with my hemp rant, because you probably already know your shit. Thank you. "dewey" from CT
