Everyone has there hero growing up mine just so happened to be Mr. Backwards. While the days of him jumping cars backwards on his triumph at Market Square Arena and the Indianapolis Speedrome as well as the Marion County Fairgrounds seem to be over. Just like any other sport or tradition someone comes along to fill those shoes. And these shoes are no different, after breaking probably every bone in his body Mr. Backwards has somewhat settled down and retired with the exception of the occasional hillclimb he has turned the jumping over to his son Mr. Backwards Jr.
I can remember as a kid going down to Rogers house with my dad for whatever reason and just being in total awwww the whole time. I think the highlight of my youth was probably the day Roger let me ride his jump bike which at the time was a 750 triumph if memory serves me correctly. Anyway I plan to ad alot of pics etc. pertaining to Mr. Backwards as I find them.... But for now here are some pics taken of Mr. Backwards JR. from the Oct. 3/4 hillclimb at Mt. Vernon IL. Rumor has it Mr. Backwards Jr. will do a jump at the RCA Dome during the Monster Truck Event in January 1999 please check back as the date and details are verified I will be posting them on a separate page.
