Trials riding involves riding your bike over extremely technical terrain
as cleanly as possible. The riders attempt to negotiate the terrain
without putting their foot down. The events are conducted over an obstacle
course including natural hazards such as rocks, mud, logs, gullies, streambeds
and steep embankments; or manmade hazards such as walls, pallets, spools,
picnic tables, log piles and even automobiles. Trials isn't so
much about beating other riders but rather competing against yourself.
Often competing riders will be cheering you on and giving you advice.
