Virtual Stories - TURBO TUBE TIME

Have you ever taken a jetski to a lake or river you've never been to? Sure you have. Well so have I, and I'm here to relay to you my experience while jetskiing down this little river on Whitewater Lake ( Azilda, Sudbury Ontario) for those who don't know where that is.

It's a beautiful July summer day and friends are over at the camp having a good time partying, drinking and swimming. I decide to take one of my friends on the tube behind my jetski. Oh by the way I have a Polaris 650 SL.   Ritchie has been on the tube before but he doesn't know what I have planned for him this time. He's aware that at the end of this lake there is a winding little river that leads to another smaller lake about 3 miles down. But never in a thousand years would he imagine that this tube ride would lead him down this river of weeds and muck. Right away, I take off with Ritchie on the tube and head directly for the river.

He's got this funny look on his face. He can't believe that he's being dragged into this river! By now it's too late to bail off the tube as he's surrounded by cat-tails and weeds. He manages to hold tight on the first few turns but barely stays on. The next sharp turn is a doozy. I give a little more gas to make this corner and next thing I know, Ritchie is flying off the tube and into the swamp he goes. I stop and look back laughing. Here's Ritchie in about 2-3 inches of water panicking cause he thinks he can't touch bottom. Finally I guess he realized that he's in knee-high water. On his hands and knees he finally looks up at me and starts to laugh. He can't believe that the water isn't as deep as he thought it was. Standing there in muck mid-ankle I turn around and pick him back up. By now he stinks of swamp shit and he's exausted. He gets on the jetski and we return back to the camp for a beer. As he gets closer to the dock he jumps off the jetski - into deeper water this time, to wash his stinky ass off!!! What a joker...
