Get off the ground for one moment
And enter a neoprene vessel.
You just stepped into my shoes
And don't worry,
You're just here for a warm up.
You're about to take the ride of your life on a jet ski,
And you're the driver.
Prepare yourself for one slippery ride
On the hydro turf,
Cause you'll need some serious aqua traction for this one.
On this watery track
There lies some of the roughest conditions.
It appears as if it were three-foot high chop
With holes in it,
Making the water seem dangerously inviting.
The waves themselves act independently,
Not worrying about each other.
There is no set pattern for you to memorize,
Neither is there a certain direction.
It's just you and Mother Nature at her finest.
As you get on the craft,
You feel a racing surge come over you.
A natural flow subconsciously comes forth,
Preparing your mind, your body, and your style.
It's a sixth sense.
Standing up you lower your center of gravity,
But still able to lean forward making an aggressive appearance.
Others may consider this appearance reckless,
But it brings a smile to your face
To know for a fact that this is the only way for you to ride.
You start off opening the throttle wide,
Ensuring an unimaginable rush.
Blazing across the water
Against 15 mph winds,
Everything becomes a blur.
The three-foot waves attempt to knock you in the air
With an occasional pop.
As it makes you fly,
The winds attempt to push you off.
Mother Nature declares a challenge against you.
The waves make your arms tired
From all the constant airtime you got.
Steadily you "read" the waves
Weaving around the big ones
And slashing through the smaller areas.
With every unexpected twist and bend from her,
You decide to throw one of your own.
As you lean forward to throw off an aggressive appearance,
You never let the throttle be anything but wide open.
Anything now can become a turn for the worst…
In less than a second you turn the handlebars
And lean forward and the direction of the turn.
You plant the nose deep,
But unexpectedly a reasonably size wave rushes up
Attempting to rip you off.
The aquatic life form hits you dead on,
Engulfing your entire body.
As you open your eyes,
You find yourself submerged within the hydro turf.
Every few seconds in it enables a wave to fall on you.
Scrambling back to your craft,
You pull yourself out of water.
You take a few seconds out to recall what actually happened.
Out of nowhere a tingling sensation comes over you
As adrenaline crawls up your spine.
Are you anxious to leave?
Is your mind focusing too much on the hypothermic conditions?
If so, then get off my back
And get back onto the ground,
Cause this kind of riding doesn't carry passengers.
But maybe you feel the rush compels you to stay
Cause drivers are wanted.
If so, take control of the handlebars
And be prepared for you just touched the calm side of the lake.
Remember, this was just a warm up…
