My Story

. I was introduced to paintball in 1987 when I was living in Sacramento California. The first time I went out to play I had used a friends Splatmaster and wearing Uvex goggles with no mask. That's pretty much the way it was at that time. There were a couple masks on the market that you could put under your goggles. The masks had minimal coverage to the face, nothing like you can find on the market today. Anyways my first day of play was very exciting, of course I wasn't to sure about what I was doing. After the game had started it didn't take long before shot's were fired. I had poked my head out from the bunker and I sat and watched that paintball come at me until it made contact with my goggles. The adrenalin rush was on. The addiction was immediate.
The first marker I purchased was a Splatmaster and of course a Uvex goggle system . It did'nt take long before I purchased a Woodstock mask which went under the goggles. I hit to a teammates cheek enticed me to do so. My next purchase about six months down the road was a Sheridan KP2 pump rifle. This was a big upgrade from the Splatmaster. The accuracy and range of this marker was outstanding. Due to the Sheridan being such a great marker the following spring I purchased a used Sheridan PGP pistol . Another great marker. Shortly after that I was Introduced to a professional airsmith in Sacramento. The man's name was Glenn Palmer. Glenn Palmer had developed the automation system for Paintball markers and is well known for his capabilities he can do with the PMI/Sheridan based markers. I had handed over my KP2 to have a direct feed nipple put on, very nice. So the marker had gone from stock class to direct feed. After that it was fun, the homemade projects went into affect. PVC pipe and empty oil containers were used for the larger amounts of paint that I could feed my KP2. It did'nt take long before I purchased a 12 ounce constant air tank and mounting bracket. It was sure a lot nicer not to have to change the 12 gram co2 cartridges every 25 shots or so. I think It was in 1989 I picked up a PMI1 and once again I had taken it to Palmers to have the direct feed nipple put on.
Sad but true in 1990 I moved back home to Clarkston, Washington. It took me a few years to find anybody who had anything to do with Paintball. I joined a recreation team named Warriors of Armageddon, Well unorganized. We played the majority of the time in the mountain region around the valley. The land that we use in the valley usually is owned by the Army Core of Engineers. We have always done things right and received permission to play. every once in a while we will run across someone who had complained about something. Usually it was paint splats where they shouldn't have been or to close to surrounding structures or people. As team Armageddon we had gone to Spokane Wa, to play with a couple tournament teams a couple times. They were known as Toy Soldiers and Magik Markers. It wasn't long after that that people from the team just started doing there own thing and the team fizzled out.Aaron George from WOA decided to get himself a business license and started up a field with rental equipment. The field was small but it was pretty cool.
I had also ran into some other paintball players.Keith Dusky was one of those players who was also running a small business out of his home"BK Paintball".It didn't take Keith long before he finally got into his own shop with a full line of retail merchandise.BK Paintball was also doing some rental equipment and playing at the various fields listed above.I think it was in december of 99 I saw a post on BK Paintball's web site that they are looking for some tournament players.I had responded to the post and wasn't long after that there was another tournament team in the making. So now I am on a rookie team,Team Blindside.

          More to come.......
