GT Thumper
The GT Thumper, new for 2K, one of GT's dirtjumpers.  The frame is almost the same as the USA made Fueler.  GT made the chainstays longer on the Thumper than the Fueler.  The Thumper comes with high flange cartridge bearings.  The rear axle is a 14mm . The crank is a GT sealed tubular chromoly 3pc. with pinchbolt.  The GT Thumper is almost identical to the lesser priced and spec'd BUMP . Complete with a gyro also and a REAL 990.  It's all you need and more to get started in dirt jumping and even street.  It comes in 2 sweet colors too .

HIGHS
-100% 4130 cromoly frame .
-Chromoly forks
-Sealed 3pc. crank .
-Sealed 48's with 14mm rear .
-Gyro
-Real Dia-Compe 990
-GT Piston Stem
-Pedals have removable pins
-Very comparable to the higher priced Haro Backtrail Pro

Lows

-The rear tire is too thin (20x1.75)
-The shit rims have got to go.  Im gonna have Big Cities built up on the sealed
hubs.
-2pc. bars have too much sweep . 2001 model has FUBARS.
-Pinchbolt must be tightened often .

OVERALL

I give the Thumper a B+ because it is an awesome and great looking bike with great components . Ideally it is the same bike that Mike Parenti and Scott Wirch ride for GT.  The reason it isnt a A+ is because I had to buy new tires and I have to get new rims.  I would reccomend this bike to someone that is a beginner to advanced in Dirtjumping and likes to ride street.
