South London Warlord tourney army (2000 points) - Multi-functional elves (5/2/2) Fluff: Ulthuan dominates the flow of trade from the Old World to the New World. The ships of the Elves ply the seas from Erengrad to the far land of Cathay. The High Elves can muster the mightiest navy in the Warhammer World, and their naval tactics are matched by none. The forces of Prince Hithran operate from ships based in the Fortress of Dawn. Built to savage Dark Elf slaving ships in the 82nd year of the reign of Morvael the Impetuous (Imperial Calendar 1203), this mighty port in the South Lands has stood for Millennia allowing rapid troop deployment to threats against High Elf interests. Always on standby, the Prince's force has been hardened by dozens of conflicts in as many different lands. A multi-purpose force, it is drawn from the many regions of Ulthuan. The composition varies, but is usually based around the staunch Spearelf troops, prevalent due to the citizen training done even at the Fortress, this is helped by whatever auxiliaries are currently stationed in port. With the honour (and protection) of a detachment of noble Silver Helms, the Prince has use of the Repeater Bolt Throwers from the ships, skilled elven archers, and the deadly ability of a contingent of Tiranoc chariots. Combined with Elven magic, this allows both offensive and defensive actions to be taken against the lesser races. With Asuryan's will, may the glory of Ulthuan burn brightly! Theory - Because you must use the same army list against whoever is next in the tournament, this has to be able to beat anything. This time around I have gone light on shooting and more for a good charge. The chariots are meant to work with the cav, while the rest of the troops sit and shoot. Eagles are for march blocking, killing warmachines or being otherwise annoying. Loads of anti-magic. Hopefully this combination should allow offence, defence and since scenarios are being used this time about, it should also allow more movement for capturing objectives. Practice - see Battle Reports for each individual fight. Hithran's 4th Mobile Operations Group 2001 list
