Maker and maintainer of MVSK8: Max Aquino

MVSK8 was originally started in the early summer of '99 as a small web page for the local skate park. After remaining untouched until fall, it has since been completely re-done; there is almost nothing remaining from the old site. Over 120 hours has been spent total been spent on my senior project, with at least 80 of those being related to this site.

I love rollerblading, it gives me a chance to keep in shape and challenge myself to do some pretty fun things, whether it be clearing a kid on the pyramid or going on a three day road trip to southern Oregon. Although I am a "fruit booter," I still have the utmost respect for skateboarders. I give more respect to the skateboarder who goes out with a good attitude than the rollerbladers that I often see who don't watch out, talk a lot of shit, and just seem to be there to piss people off. I think it's a shame that there's such a rivalry between the two entirely different sports. I personally think that the rivalry should be between the older guys and the pipsqueeks (I don't mind little kids except when they come en masse and completely hog a line without knowing what the hell they're doing).

I'm also a computer geek and I love big projects. That's why I chose this for my senior project, so I can mix together some of the funnest aspects of my life into one giant project. All of the HTML on this site was done by me, and all of the trick photos (barring the ones of yours truly) were taken by me. I have gone to all of the local parks, plus a bunch of others, to produce a high quality web site. All of the edited photographs (such as the one above and the park logos) were done by myself as well, after Erik sent me off in the general direction.

I appreciate any and all comments posted on my guestbook, and I would especially like to thank Daniel for not only taking some of the pictures (The Dalles, Ellensburg, Hood River, most of the pictures of me), but for showing me how to go big. Too bad that I can now go higher than him. I'd also like to thank Jason for being my other important camera man, and Erik for showing me how to work both frames and photoshop.

I have no clue why, but the picture above makes my nose look really big (it's not that big in real life).
