Last night the lab called to say that they found NO METASTASES in the biopsy samples! I think this is nothing short of miraculous. Dr. Spirtos, a guy who has historically been on our side, had a gut feel toward the negative with these "nodules." This is a guy who's seen thousands of cases and is generally pretty accurate on this stuff. He saw in Paige multiple symptoms that pointed to cancerous tumor growth (re-growth actually) and he felt "more than 50% certain" that we were dealing with tumors.
How these came back non-cancerous I don't know but thank God. I mean there is just no reasonable explanation for this. Regardless, the sense of relief is indescribable. Joan, Bob & I all huddled in the kitchen and were crying since the certain death sentence had been lifted. We're back on the chemo program and stil moving in the positive direction. Paige & I were so taxed emotionally from the dramatic swing of the past few days it was all we could do to just hug and be happy.
