| Here I am falling down to quiver and just about pass out. This was definitely a day of maximal exertion. If I'd gone any harder they woulda hooked me up to an IV in the medical tent. Of course I would have had to stand in line for that since so many people did not finish. Even though 180 finishers are shown on the results, something like 250+ started the race. Ouch. There were plenty of taco-ed rims, busted collarbones, broken arms & heat exhaustion victims to go around. They said this was the hardest XTerra course of any event they've done, ever. They promised not to make the course so hard next year. |
