EXILES 21- NAGYGUSHAWA 12 Comprehensive Park, 19 dec 99 A true test of our grit. Down 12-0 at the half, the Exiles were being beaten by penalty after penalty and a few pivotal mistakes. The opposition was hard hitting and relentless. After a short pep talk at the half by captain Blais, the Exiles gathered up their heads and marched down the field. For the most part we stayed cool and collected and it showed. "Semen" gave the ax its first downward momentum scoring a great open field try. This was followed up by a Walter Pattonesque run from deep in our territory breaking several tackles to paydirt, and with a Ju Ju conversion, the lead. It was runs like this and fielding some difficult kicks that earned him the dubious honor of Man of the Match. To place the perverbial cherry on the cake, Juan showed us that wings aren't all hairspray and designer fashion by dotting down his Zulu try. |
