OREGON AIRSOFT

This is just a makeshift site to help any players in Oregon who are interested in finding others get in touch. .

11/16/99: Over the past couple months I have been receiving e-mails from airsofters in Portland and all around Oregon who were interested in finding others to skirmish with. I also have, like many others, been receiving e-mail from Washington players looking for competition. While many teams seem to exsist on some level in Oregon, I thought the best idea would be to plan a meeting of interested airsofters to see where we stand, and what kind of interest exsists in making a team. This would also, hopefully, help those who have little experience in airsoft handle higher end equipment, such as Gas Blowback pistols and Automatic Electric Guns. Since I, like many others, am away at college, I thought the best meeting time would be in December during Winter Break. Below are some issues which we may want to deal with at the meeting: Please sne my your suggestions:

Leagues:
We are all on different budgets, so I think it would be prudent to help develop certain leagues of play. For example, I love spring wars, but a spring isn't gonna go well against an AEG, so it would be nice to have different levels, allowing players of all interests levels to participate.

Tournaments:
There are frequently held airsoft tournaments held in California, as well as several teams in both California and Washington. It may be fun to arrange a group of interested airsofters to attend these tournatments and represent out fine state.

Exposure:
Many new airsofters haven't had a chance to see and try the higher end of airsoft, such as Gas and Electric types. If a range could be found, I think it would be fun to let those interested have a chance to try out the various types of airsoft and see what level they wish to compete at.

If you wish to be involved with this process, please e-mail me, and I will put you on the list of interested airsofters. You will then receive updates as to the location and date of meeting. I will also start posting info on Oregon airsofters at this site as soon as I get enough of it.

On one final note, there are two known retailers of airsoft in Portland:

Paintball Outfitters: They carry a range of spring and mini electric airsoft, and occasionally gas. Located on the Beaverton Hillsdale-Hwy. In teh shopping center with the bowling lanes near Jesuit HS. (See Yellow Pages for Address.)

Andy and Bax Surplus: Only minis and UHC ammo as far as I know, but they are also a great source of other airsoft gear, such as ammo poches, Tactical Load Bearing Vests, and BDUs. Located on SE Grand (See Yellow Pages, sorry.)
