| Savory Mull is a five piece all original "rockadelic" style jam band. One fan described the band's approach as "... an ear friendly modern tribute to the late 60's counterculture rock movement." Recurring themes are swirled into passages of improvisation many times during a Savory Mull performance. The music is versatile for the listener- It can be a soothing hynotic pulse, or the spark to ingite a leaf pile of dancing in a crowded club. | |||||||||||||||
| The band consists of bass guitar by Brett Poe, acoustic guitar and vocals by Adam Veenhuis, drums by Brian George, lead and rhythm guitar by Chris Treter, and lead/rhythm guitar and vocals by Scott Yaklofsky.The group has officially been together since February 1999 with the addition of Brett Poe, but much material has been three years in developing. Early jam sessions were hazy, acoustic sound experiments where precursors to current songs were developed. After hosting a barbecue and premiering the Savory Mull Sound, they decided to begin rehearsing and call it a band. | |||||||||||||||
| Since the official formation Savory Mull has performed at the following Greater Cincinnati venues: Annie's Entertainment Center, Ripley's Alive, The Mad Frog, The Overflow, Southgate House, and The Barrel House. Savory Mull is seeking to schedule performances as either a feature or opening act. Some bands that Savory Mull has performed with include The Why Store, Deepwater Junction and Banyan, the experimental music project led by former Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins. The band also placed second in The Mad Frog's first annual Battle of the Bands competition. They helped organize and performed in a benefit for the 12th St. Drop Inn Center that was held at Southgate House Involving 13 fine acts. | |||||||||||||||

| The band's first album was released in June of 2000. It was recorded in one month with a limited budget, but the band is pleased with the product nontheless. | |||||||||||||||
