for Khan-Tengri Races
The Alpine Club of Kyrgyz Republic holds the Sixth International Competition
of speed individual ascent to Khan-Tengri Peak (Races), South Inylchek
glacier, August 8-15, 2000.
This is the invitation to take part in the races of mountaineers from
your Federation (Club).

Khan-Tengri Races
The Sixth International Competition of speed individual
ascent to Khan-Tengri Peak (Races), South Inylchek glacier, August
8-15, 2000.
Rules and conditions of participants registration
1. The route of the Competition goes from Base camp
under Gorky Peak by South Inylchek glacier, Semenovski glacier,
and further by west edge of Khan-Tengri Peak. Descent goes by
the same way as ascent.
2. The point of start and finish is the Base camp
of ITMC "Tien-Shan".
3. Only experienced in high-altitude ascents participants
able to show recommendation letters from Alpine Federation or
Clubs are to be permitted.
4. Arrival of participants to Inylchek glacier is
to be discussed with organization Committee not later than one
month before the beginning of Competition. Participants information
is to be submitted for forming a permit to boarder zone (in Application
Form).
5. Preparing and acclimatization time is not limited.
Ascents of any kinds and routes are permitted for participants
during acclimatization time, including ascent to Khan-Tengri Peak
by any routes.
6. Competition will be held in 3-5 days. It depends
from of number of participants and weather conditions during the
period from the 8th to 15th of August.
7. During the period of Competition participants
choose time of start by themselves. Judges are to be informed
not less than 4 hours before start.
8. The path by Semenovski glacier to peremychka will
be renewed daily, except days, which is dangerous by abnormally
avalanche.
9. Start time of participant can be change because
of abnormally avalanche or other objective reason by judges' decision.
Participant has to agree to a new start time.
10. Each participant can change start two times.
11. Participant is expelled from the Competition
if he is on route more than 36 hours.
12. Participants use own equipment during Competition.
13. Participants are accommodate in the Base camp
of ITMC "Tien-Shan" free of charge during August 1-15 and during
the races for 3-5 days as well as food, medical aid, consultations.
14. During the ascent participants are provided hot
beverages. It is on judge points which is on turn of Semenovski
glacier, at the points of 5900 m and 6400 m.
15. On the start participant receives counter which
he should stay on the top.
16. Participants provide safety during the ascent
by themselves.
17. Part of route from 6700 m to the top is provided
fixed ropes.
18. It is forbidden to use ski during the ascent
and descent.
19. Each participant must have accident insurance
policy.

1. Goals and
The Races holds to reveal the strong mountaineers of the
World, to populate mountaineering, change an experience of high
altitude ascents.
2. Time and place of holding the Races
The Races holds from August 8-15, 2000.
The place is South Inylchek glacier, Khan-Tengri Peak.
3. Management
During the preparing period, from August 8 and after August 15,
2000, Organization Committee, Chairman is Mr. Vladimir Komissarov.
During the Races, from August 8 to 15, 2000, Judge Group manage
all matters of the Races jointly with organization Committee.
Chief Judge of the Races is Mr. Sergei Klovanich (Odessa, Russia)
