BOARD REVIEWS

Tum Yeto Mnfg. (Toy Machine, Zero, Foundation)

94
Overall, good boards. Last fairly long, may be heavy, but are pretty reliable. Decent pop, fair price.

A-Team, Blind, World, 101

95
Recommended. These boards have great pop, and can take a beating. They're not as strong as Tum Yeto boards, but they definately will not chip without considerable slamming and trashing. The boards are concaved perfectly. Good boards.
"World Industries: The Marcus Mcbride board is great. It has great concave, great pop, and is very durable. Two thumbs up." -Matt Soltys" (tsoltys@wcl.on.ca)

Birdhouse

91
Birhouse decks are pretty good decks. While the designs may be a little stupid, the decks themselves hold up nicely. Birdhouse decks have mad pop, and are light. However, they are not the strongest of boards.

Santa Cruz PowerPly

89
Powerply decks are probably the strongest decks you can buy. If you have a problem with constantly breaking boards, I'd go with a PowerPly. Unfortunetly, PowerPly decks are cumbersome and have little or no pop. It's strictly a preference thing here.

Element

80
Element decks are not great decks. I personally have known 2 people who have broken their Elements the 1st day of skating them due to manufacturing cracks (cracks due to poor board construction). Element boards crack easily, that's all there is to it. But they are light.

Acme

86
Acme boards sport moderate strength, are heavy, and have mediocre pop. All around, a decent board.

Shorty's

93
Good boards. Shorty's boards are really strong and have great pop. The nose and tail are quite spacious, allowing for sweet nose/tailslides. They may be a bit heavy, but it probably won't affect your skating.

Powell

87
Powell has been around a long time. They know how to make good boards. Nothing about a Powell board stands out, but there's nothing really wrong with them, either.

Flip

90
Flip's boards closely resemble Birdhouses' as far as strength and pop goes. Small nose and tail, though. But they're light, and pretty strong, a rare combination.

Invisible

88
Like most skateboards, Invisible boards have nothing really special about them; they're good, all-round boards. No complaints here. 1
