I was eyelining

Dreams are supposed to fade away. Dreams are boring when you tell them to other people. So my idea here is to write them down and share them here. I'm interested to hear dreams that you'll be remembering in ten years, or dreams that have stayed with you from when you were young, ones you'll likely always remember. This will be an anonymous thing 'cause it might be embarrassing (see my poem below), but you can include name/email if you like. Thank you!

Please share here (or you can send it by email) :

I have two dreams to share, they happen to be nightmares, I think I was 5 years old. It was a birthday party on my front lawn and we were playing tag and some kind of bunny, maybe he was easter, got me and attacked me tickling me. My sister laughs at me because she knows it and it doesn't sound scary when I tell it. My other dream I'm sitting on a mall bench with a baby and I'm supposed to be taking care of it while my mom and my sister look in a store, I pick up the baby (wrapped in blankets) and the baby starts tickling me.

My hokey poem --

well tommy was a good man
he didn't make excuses
wants he had so very few
and didn't take refusals
It came to me in a dream. That's the only full verse I could remember.

this one's from late 1997:
I was in a dark, glassy school with many halls and levels and we moved around in capsules/elevators and escalators. In one elevator, which was going too fast for me, my Classics teacher was casually eating carrot cake while I clenched my skeleton to the walls. Heading higher up still on pairs of escalators, this guy further up the moving steps--when I tapped my foot onto the bottom step--he would start climbing down the escalator, backwards, slowly stepping. I would get on the escalator but only tapping the bottom steps like I was moving on it. When he got close enough, I ran up the escalator's pair.

Ok, before I talk about my dream, I'd better provide some background info. Back in the early-to-mid '80s (I think) there was a show called "Live It Up" on CTV and it was a lifestyle-magazine kinda show, I don't know what the hell they're actually called. Anyway, they had a 'mascot' kinda thing called the Live It Up Bug, which was a person dressed in a black outfit, completely covered from head to toe, with a long pointy nose (beak? you know, like on a mosquito), some big sunglasses I think, and maybe a shell and/or wings (fake, of course) on its back. Between each segment of the show they'd show this bug-person running around doing things in fast-motion, like in old silent movies, with fast frenetic music or something playing in the background, and when this thing talked (to itself 'cause I don't think there was ever anybody else there with it) it was in a really high-pitched, speeded-up voice. When I was little, these little bits of the show were always kinda scary to me and I didn't like to look at them an d watch this big scary bug running around like that. (I was kind of afraid of insects when I was little.)

So anyway, here's the dream: When I was 3 or 4 or maybe even 5, I dreamed that I was strapped in my car seat in the middle of the back seat of our car and it was speeding down the highway, but nobody was driving, the car was completely empty except for me. Then I noticed that bug-person's head pop up outside the window, then disappear, then quickly appear in another place, over and over again. Apparently there were several of those bugs climbing all over the outside of the car and looking in at me, and I thought there were probably also invisible ones inside the car too driving because the steering wheel moved back and forth a little. It was all pretty frightening, and I was strapped firmly into my car seat, unable to move, all I could do was close my eyes and hope they didn't get me. What they would've done to me I have no idea, maybe eat me or something, but if one of them got near me it would've been like a fate worse than death. Then I guess I woke up.

When I was 7 I had a terrifying dream that my sister got cought in the paper feeder of the Xerox machine at Safeway. I tried to pull her out by her feet, but couldn't. Eventually the "keystone cops" came round and helped, but it was too late. She was gone. Now, photocopiers are one of my *favorite* machines. I'll still never forget that one though...

I go to the butcher with my parents... It's the scene where there is a waiting room with one of those two way swinging doors with the round window. Everything is white and there are chairs along the walls, but we are the only ones there. I love the smell of a butchery... it's got that 'bacony' smell (always reminds me of waking up to mom and breakfast). Well... The butcher comes out and talks to my parents about different cuts of meat and invites them to come back for samples, but sorry, no children allowed. I wait for half an hour and still my mom & dad aren't back yet... After a while I look in through the door and see the blood everywhere and the butcher busy at work cutting up some big slab of meat.... I quickly realize that the smell has changed and now smells like human meat (whatever that smells like). I usually wake up then...

I must have had this same dream 20 times within a half-year.
conclusion: Not only do I dream in stereo. It would appear I also dream with COLOR and SMELL as well.

I'm sitting on my mum's knee except she isn't my mum. I go to her "Something's not right mum", so she gets Uncle Bob into the room and goes "There we go, now everything's okay isn't it". But I don't have an Uncle Bob and I've never met the guy in my life. So I go "Something's still not right", so mum goes and gets my sister's hairclip from the shelf but I've never seen it before, and she says "There now, everything's okay isn't it." It goes on like that until it ends.

I know where I got that from now, it was off the Labarinth. It was that scene where that hag woman was giving the main character all her toys and saying that it was okay.

There was one more nightmare which was more of a sensation though. It's really hard to explain, but it was really horrible when I was feeling it but whenever I tried to remember what it felt like it didn't sound bad at all. It was kindof like a really dry hard feeling in my mouth, and I'd have a vision of a pumpkin slowly getting bigger and bigger.

Ok this is hard because I still get this dream to this day...... I am walking down the isles of a payless shoe store. No one seems to be there but me. Suddenly out of no where comes Mr Clean. He chases me down this never ending isle that only stops when i wake up. That is it.
