Club Earth held its first meeting Tuesday, Oct. 8th 1996, in room
910 at Chabot College,
Hayward, California. Club Earth is an environmental awareness
club whose purpose will be to introduce a more extensive
recycling program here on the campus and provide information to
students as to how they can go about helping improve the quality
of our environment for a better future for ourselves and our
children. Students will learn this along with ways to save money, how to grow and maintain better
gardens, how to have a better and more appealing surrounding
to work and live in. Other programs Club Earth projects to
introduce are workshops on Reducing, Reusing and Recycling
materials, annual camping trips,
teaching members about the Internet and how it can help in our
course while, together, creating a website for our club. Upcoming
events are March
For Parks Week, Earth
Day, and Arbor Day.
Club Earth also hopes to have guest speakers to give us a better
understanding of our world, how it works and our relationship to
this planet that we all share. Please contact Club Earth for more information, comments and
suggestions.
