is a wonderful charity that helps animal lovers know what medical charities they can donate to with a clear conscience ... knowing that not one dime of their donation will go to animal testing! What a sigh of relief this fine organization offers us that want cures for diseases but don't want to make innocent animals suffer in the process.

PCRM recently discovered that experiments funded by the March of Dimes sewed the eyes of newborn kitten shut! They left them in this condition for one year! AND THEN THEY KILLED THEM!

"Why?" is a fair question, don't you think? These so-called-scientists wanted to show that depriving cats of normal vision alters brain development. Even though it's accepted scientific fact that changes in vision can affect the brain.

The March of Dimes has also underwritten experimenters who gave nicotine, alcohol and cocaine to pregnant animals and their babies. Even though human observations proved their harmful effects long ago.

In all March of Dimes spends approximately one million dollars on animal experiments. What a way to spend its time and money! What a tragic loss of life!*

Tell her that you are OUTRAGED THAT THE MARCH OF DIMES annually spends one million dollars to fund experimentation. Implore her to redirect all funds to cruelty-free alternatives that will have a real impact on decreasing birth defects, including research using human cells, human population studies and birth defect monitoring systems.

In addition, urge her to sponsor more programs that provide prenatal care and education to prevent birth defects in the first place.
