ABOUT MYSELF
My name is ESTELITA, I was born September 3, and have aged to become the master of my own destiny. i'm a classical idealist who believe in the innate beauty of all things. My real gift is the ability to spark humor and initiate offbeat afront towards a certain convention.
I love violet of all colors and the pink that goes with. i also loveseeing flowers in bloom and scouting around natural niches where I commune best with the mother of all creations. I grew up in the Tagalog ( a filipino ethno-linguistic group that literally means "from the river") province of Quezon in the 400-year old town of Tayabas.
I prefer alternative music of Filipino local artists like Gary
Granada, Paul Galang, Joey Ayala, Inang Laya and Grace Nono. But, I also enjoy classical pieces of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart. If I want to feel life and a bit sentimental I opt for old titles like Unforget..(the MIDI sound of this HP), Unchained Melody, If I Fall In Love, Traces of Love, I've Got You Under My Skin, I've Got a Crush On You (Linda Ronstadt version), Somewhere In Time (and all the other Somewhere Titles) Killing me Softly and all sort of music that range from Jazz to Ballad to Light Rock. Among foreign Artists... I like Julia Fordham, John Denver, Anita Baker, The Bread, The Lettermen, Jim Croce, England Dan, Neil Young, John Ford Cooley, James Taylor, Rick Springfield, Corey Hart (only in his song... "Straight from the Heart"), Tears for Fears, Rick Astley, David Benoit, Kenny G., Kenny Rankin, Michael Franks, Earl Klugh, Fith Dimension, Acoustic Alchemy,
America and George Benson.
Aside from music, I also have deep love for poetry and plays and all things of the Art and Culture. My current program at the University of the Philippines (Diliman) is something that will lead me to a Master's Degree in Philippine Studies focusing on Society And Cultutre. In College, I finished Bachelor of Arts in political Science and History but I am a teacher of Social Science by profession. I am presently connected with La Salle Green Hills in Mandaluyong City Philippines where I handle Philippine History(for first year students in the SPAS, Special Program for Advance Students) and World History (for Senior Regular students).
I enjoy mountain climbing, hiking, biking, forest and cave hopping and all sorts of outdoor mobile activities. Because I grew up at the foot of Mt. Banahaw, I view all mountains as cathedral and a pilgrimage site. My greatest fear in life are snakes and crawling reptiles so I need people to go with me whenever I attempt to make a climb. I used to trek with Ayala Mountaineers, PAL Mountaineering Group and the UP
Palaris.
While in the graduate school, sometime ago, when I was taking my MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching Social Studies) at UP... we formed B.A.B.A.E. which is an acronym for Bagong Alyansya ng mga Babae para sa Abolisyon ng lahat ng uri ng Eksploytasyon.. this is a women's group fighting all sorts of exploitation and this is how I got into
networking activities and collaborative efforts with the political
middle left, the mainstream politics and the extreme rightists.
I am a political person, I work as a teacher because I view teaching
as a "subversive activity" where idologies are popularized in the
pseudo-propaganda routine of classroom teaching. Teachers are catalyst
of change and social transformation and I think I am playing a
significant role in this light.
Family, friends and colleagues call me "Tilit" which is my public and
cosmopolitan alias, but in the village where I came from they call me
"Tileng". My young boys at La Salle Green Hills call me "Ms Tilit".
I'm a practicing catholic but I am open to ecumenical point of view...
I tend to be a bit sluggish on things about religiosity because I find
a better enlightenment in doing evangelical and apostolic works. I'd
rather be in a reachout activity than debate on matters of opinion
about faith. To me, Martin Luther's 95 Theses are moot and academic.
I'm the youngest female from a brood of nine. My peasantic background
showed me the wisdom of living an honorable life devoid of
materialism and worldly acquisitions. The kind of life that I sustain
is a life free from wanting while contented with having... I have
illustruous dreams but less for myself... more for others.
My MBTI reveals that I am an ENTJ person, a Hare and digital
personality so I can do two or more things at the same time.... I am
also a quadrant I type of person, "formal and assertive"... all these
psychological tests gave nothing but a chunk of my real personality.
Just as this homepage is but a chunk of my offbeat character. I tend
to be very masculine in the way I handle things but I am very feminine
deep within. If there is such a thing as female gay... then, I am a
verifiable category.
I move about life with ease and painstaking challenge, I made many
stupid blunders but I invented a way of coping with frustrations... I
laugh and learn about my mistakes. I'm not a dcomputer buff or an
internet addict, I love people and I collect friends and keep them.
When I deal with people, I give them space for a daily clean slate...
I seldom harbor ill-feelings because those are emotional hallogens
that may lead to some catharsis and pathetic cases. I am very
patient, I have this long string for understanding all types of
personality. Being a teacher, I've learned the craft of gentle
firmness vis-a-vis firm gentleness... this is what MY MINISTRY OF
TOUCHING HEART IS ALL ABOUT!
