Will also be adding massive data within the next few weeks on the Tourism initiatives for Revelstoke, and the Revelstoke Land Use Plan...stay tuned!
October 30, 1997. Added info to index re: recent draft Land Use Plan, and response to the two tourism operators who spoke. All other speakers were timber/forestry related - no other values were represented at this community meeting of in excess of 400 persons(in a town of 8500). Stay tuned for updates on this.
November 21, 1997. The Counter is giving me headaches. It is now reset to 0, (at times). Have also added some exciting opportunities for contributions to a special issue of the Journal of Tourism Studies - see the homepage for details(listed right below the comments line in headers). Thank you for your interest!
December 12, 1997. Reviewed and revised all the links, updated addresses, and added a few new ones on text version, main homepage, and the Virtual Visit to Revelstoke.
January 30, 1998. Removed data on Journal(deadlines are past), and still arguing with tempermental counter. My system crashed, so lost some important contacts for links - please, send your url's again, and will list them as soon as possible.
February 04, 1998. Corrected Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks links on all pages.
March 21, 1998. Have added upcoming event of First Nations Land Claim issues on graphic index page, to be followed by much data in future months. I hope to also link First Nation Homepages, as agreed to by the varied nations. My incentive for this effort comes from my belief in settling land claim issues. This set of song lyrics, from the movie Pocahontas are listed here for your perusal. Think about these lyrics the next time you consider our First Nation Land issues. We owe a great debt.
March 26, 1998. Have added the Provincial and Federal Government sites to our First Nations Homepage , which includes the very important Statement of Reconciliation, made by our Federal Government. As I hear from First Nations, Inuit, or Metis peoples, with their permission, I will add these important homepages here.
March 29, 1998. Have received permission to add three links to our First Nations Homepage, and these have been added today.
March 31, 1998. Received permission to link an excellent new site to our First Nations Homepage, namely Four Worlds Institute for Human and Community Development. This page contains so much relevant data that it is also now linked on our index, and text only main pages. Make sure to visit this one.
April 21, 1998. Happy Earth Day tomorrow! Added Rene' and Tourism Montreal Tourism Research Links in English, or choose this site in French This excellent site returns to our homepage, after a computer crash lost the address.
May 5 & 7, 1998. Corrected and removed/changed links on our Virtual Visit to Revelstoke page.
May 18, 1998. Corrected layout on our index, and added new links to our First Nations Homepage.
September 4, 1998. Added our comments on the Revelstoke Land Use Plan Draft, and updated existing links.
October 20, 1998. Added challenge to our regional and provincial tourism marketing arms, now under Crown Corp status, (funded by provincial room tax...)to ensure they meet our biggest and smallest sustainable needs. The operations are currently believed to be "exclusive" rather than "inclusive", without regard to environmental or social impacts on communities and regions they represent. Our Challenge to these operations - live by the TIAC Guidelines, or those provided by the Charter for Sustainable Tourism Guidelines. This org needs to be responsive, responsible, and accountable, to industry, visitors, and the environment our industry utilizes. We will make every effort necessary to ensure they are, and will provide progress reports here. Also, made changes re: Bear Awareness issues on our Virtual Visit to Revelstoke page, as to why we only had 4 bears exterminated versus over 50 in other places in our region... Important? You Bet!
January 9, 1999 - so sorry for delay in updates... am trying to ad geocities guide to the virtual visit, so you don't get that really annoying box, and will also soon be adding data on our community - we are dealing with financial issues, which will show if, at the end of the day, our Mayor and Council truly believe in the vision statement...or just wish to push selected initiatives with our taxpayers...stay tuned. Also, corrected some outdated links and info on our First Nation Issues - keep in touch with the BC Government negotiations with First Nations - this is ground breaking work toward a debt long overdue!
January 31, 1999 - added link on index page for Wellesley Treasure House, a treasure collection from the Geocities Homepages
July 02, 1999 - advised of the results of efforts towards the Revelstoke Land Use Plan, now completed by the Ministers Advisory Committee. There is concern, as we have been advised the Revelstoke plan primarily deals with Forest Development/Timber needs, and, jeopardizes the biodiversity, old growth management, caribou management, and tourism values that should have been given importance.
If I understand correctly, we have placed caribou, tourism, and many other important values and economic impacts as secondary issues.
November 15, 1999 - The Illecillewaet Greenbelt Society Page is coming - this excellent non-profit Conservation group, currently responsible for a 22.5 Hectare Conservation park in our very special valley, is doing very exciting things...we hope to have this page actioned by January.
March 03, 2000 - It has been a very long winter. The Illecillewaet Greenbelt Page is still under construction; my email address has changed, too. I am working hard to get the pages, dead links, et al updated.

March 6, 2002 - Added another link to our First Nations page; I will be unable to complete the Illecillewaet Greenbelt Page at this time, so the information has been removed from the main homepage.
November 20, 2002 - Have modified/corrected a few of the links. Am still recovering from the accident in 2000, and it is taking some time to try to rebuild the concentration skills, so please forgive any html errors you encounter - I will try to correct the pages this winter.
July 16, 2003 - changed all email addresses to new email handler, to attempt to eliminate the horrific spam... all you spammers - the filters will get rid of you!!! Get a real job!
