A personal note to illustrate what has brought me to this point. I have practiced both traditional and natural medicine as a nurse working in an allopathic environment and as a student earning a degree in naturopathy. It is my opinion, from what I have learned through experience, as well as my studies, Integrative Medicine should be practiced above all. Integrative Medicine focuses on health and healing, rather than disease and treatment by utilizing both alternative (Naturopathic), as well as traditional (Allopathic) medicine. Recognizing the importance of maintaining good health requires a partnership between healer and patient, treating the "whole" person (mind, body and spirit) and addressing all dynamics, including diet, exercise, rest and other lifestyle changes. Making use of the simpler, least invasive, less costly treatment. The popular proclivity towards Naturopathy as "New Age" or even nonsensical can be shifted by responsible research. I invite you to read the basic teaching on Naturopathy by clicking on the appropriate link below and I think you will come to the same conclusion I have, that not only is there is nothing new about it, but that it also just good common sense.
