All about the storks right from the nursery school
Kindergarten “Sleeping Beauty“, Slavonski Brod.
What are the young children's images of stork?
1. What do you think what the storks are?
Tena (6) “ Well…..That is a bird.”
2. What do the storks do? Why?
Vanja (6) “ It chatter by its miuth ; catches frogs in the sea and some deep green swamps because it eats in the way.”
3. What do they eat?
Dragutin(5,5) “ Frogs,snakes,mice,spiders…..They live on them.”
4 What do you like most obaut them ?
Maja(5.5) “ When it eats frogs and its long beak I don’t like it.But I like when it builds a nest an thechimney.”
5. What do the storks look like ?
Albert(6) “ White ,big,a litle orange almost straight and then a lttle hunchy.Big storks can catch frogs and feed their babies.”
6. Are the storks good or bad ?
Marina(5) “ It is good as it eats frogs and snakes. Iam scared of snakes and if tha storks doesn t eat the snake it will bite me.”
7. Do you like storks? Why?
Iva(5) “ Ilike them very much as they are beautiful,soft and have the biggest beaks.”
8. Have you ever seen the stork?
Borna(6) “Yes. I saw them on the chimney.There were four of tham and one of tham was looking up at the bigger one.”
9. Do you think the storks are happy?
Tena(6) “Sometimes they are,sometimes they aren t.Because they can be happy and sad and well all sorts of.”
10. What did your Mum and Dad tell you about the stork?
Borna(6) “Nothing.I have heard a poem about storks bringing babies. But it is a joke. That doesn t exist. Thay don't do that. If it was the truth the stork would stick its beak into the diapers and couldn t disentangle it any more.”
11. How would you named the stork?
Tena(5) “ Martina, because my Grannys sister gave birth to Martina and I love her.”
12. Do thay have surname?
Tena(6) “ Thay don t have surname, as thay can't talk, thay don't get married, so thay coulden't have surname.”
13. Where does the stork live and sleep?
Iva(6) “It makes a nest on the chimney, lays eggs and has a little storkies, then it goes to get food and when they grow up they bring babies to Mum and Dad.
14. Do thay have friends?
Ana(6) “ Yes. If they didn t have friends they would be very sad not having anybody to play with.”
15, How long do thay live?
Ana(6) “They live….And when they die there are no storks and then they go away to the Nice playground with a lot of children…”
