Wonderful photos! That Phal amboinensis (2nd Place) really shows how closely related phals and vandas are!
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
Tell me if I am going too fast (Please!!)

John_in_Arcadia,_CA
And a display of Mokara
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Those Mokaras are woderfully colorful!! Our OrchidSafari member from Bombay (I'm blanking on his name right now...) always told me to watch for more Mokaras to be imported to America. Now I can't wait!
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
#11 Arachnis and Hybrids
#12 3rd Place - Paph. rothschildianum.
This is #13: 1st Place - Paph concolor
Thomas_in_Richmond,_VA Number 12 [the rothschildianaum] is my favorite so far.
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Nice roth! And everyone should notice that the Mokaras and other vandaceous plants are potted in some sort of coir.
Interesting huh! Jags said they just plant them in the ground there in Singapore and India, etc.
Barbara,_N._CA
The Paph. concolor is making my mouth watering.
Kathy_in_N_Calif
I didn't know concolor could look so good!
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
#14 a Paph Display

Sharon_in_Indiana
I want one of each Cattleya for Christmas...I've been real good. LOL ...and at least one of Blc. Ewart McDonald.
Paul,_Saginaw,_Mi
There is a number below the plant, do they use the same classifications as in the states?
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Paul, I think each show uses its own numbers for show classifications.
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
#17 Cattleya Display
Paul,_Saginaw,_Mi
If Santa has a heated sleigh, he can bring me the Phals and the Paphs. That would be a nice Christmas present.
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
#18 front entrance to the show
#19 Dendrobium Margaret Thatcher
Knisbett
Wow, that's an interesting one! - the dendrobium.
Sharon_in_Indiana
Hmmm I may decide that dendrobiumss should be part of my collection after all. :)
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
Here is #20: Rhv Colmarie
Knisbett
I can't imagine actually seeing them in person!
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
Isn't # 20 [the Rhychovanda] fantastic?? What a beautiful color!!
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Wonderful purple color.
#21 is: Onc. Noll Schoenrock
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
What a display on that Onc!!!!! I could only hope to do 1/2 as well (well, maybe only 1/100!!)
Barbara,_N._CA
That's the best looking Miss J I ever seen.
#23 Blue Renanthera/Rhychostylis Type
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Now that's a wonderful orchid!
Steve_in_the_Adirondacks
I'm testing my computer in a way I never tried before. I have 17 Netscape windows open at once. This one and the last 16 orchid pictures. I think I smell smoke. Maybe I should close some of them. :-)
Knisbett
I got the pic but not the name? Is this one a blue vanda? In my dreams I have blue vandas, LOL! Not enough light in my place to bloom them, I'm sure. [No name was given.]
John_in_Arcadia,_CA>BR? #24 Den. Dawn Maree
Barbara,_N._CA
How come my Den Dawn Maree only have 2 flowers?
Paul,_Saginaw,_Mi
These orchids are in the IDEAL conditions.
Sharon_in_Indiana
How I wish I had the space and the light to grow vandas. They sure are 'some kind of purty'.
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Arrgh, I just killed one of those!
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
The last one is #25:
"Three Vandas" - no names
Knisbett
Wow, that vanda on the left is really cool!
ahorchid
A little cold in my gh for vanda, but I've got one anyway. Maybe it will bloom
Kathy_in_N_Calif
Paul, you got that right! I've been marvelling at the lack of brown tips, the plump well hydrated leaves, all broad and flat... not like my collection at all! *G*
John_in_Arcadia,_CA
I hope that I haven't gone too fast. No one complained and we did get them all in in the 1 hour alloted for the speaker (even if we didn't have one - LOL).
Knisbett
You did great, John!
