Glad to hear you are on the net and are considering joining us on OrchidSafari. Email the chat coordinator, marylois, to add your email address to our newsletter mailing list with a distribution of over three hundred, including active and "interested" members.

That's really all there is to it! It's no longer a private room - you need no password other than the one you choose for yourself. But we do request that you email marylois@shreve.net giving your first name, general location, and the name you use at chat. This gets you on the newsletter mailing list and on the OrchidSafari locator. And don't forget to send "orchid history" to BIOGRAPHIES OF MEMBERS

We meet at 8 p.m. Central, Wednesday and Saturday nights (6 p.m. Pacific, 7 p.m. Mountain, 9 p.m. Eastern)

For your convenience, here is a time hack which shows current Central time. It might make things clearer to know that the time posted with each message (roomtime) is Pacific.

Experience to date shows 12-36 show up on chat at any one time -- we chat about things friends chat about, but if an orchid question/statement comes up, it's acknowledged.

Wednesday night is generally Topic Night; other times are Open Chat.

We endeavor to have a Special Study Group, featuring a pre-announced topic (email newsletters) each Wed nite. During the topic, we are to stay strictly on topic. All other time is "open chat". Please read the OrchidSafari Credo
