Miltonia Honolulu
(Gayety x Ann Warne)

Saw Miltonia Honolulu on the society plant table several years ago, and hunted far and wide to get one. Finally bought a blooming size plant in a 6 inch pot from Lee Gundlach. It now resides in a 12 inch wood slat basket, and seems to love it! Blooms in late summer.

The Brazilian miltonias have a reputation for sequential blooming with no more than one or two flowers open at one time on an inflorescence. Milt. Honolulu is 75 percent Milt. spectabilis, but this September it gave 11 spikes with four to five buds each...which opened sequentially, but the first opening blooms did not fade or fall off! It was quite a show!
