Mtdm. Cool Stars
Mtdm. Cool Stars (Milt. Honolulu x Onc. durangense) is a speculative cross and the results are just about as varied as one could imagine. Onc. durangense is a compact ‘reflexum' type Oncidium having a prominent yellow lip. Most have bloomed on short plants with a few large, brightly colored-lip flowers and reflexed green tepals. An occasional clone is large, having a stately spray of similarly colored flowers. The lips can be like velvet, the one pictured being a combination of purple velvet edge with a chamois interior. Not pretty by any means, but striking.
