This is Dendrobium cymbidioides, a cute little thing which flowers regularly and profusely, as you can see. It was planted out from a cutting given to me by Mr. Masao Miyau of Hilo on one of the many field trips I took to his place. One of the pleasures of taking field trips to Mr. Miyau's was his generosity; all the students attending were given cuttings of this and an Eria convollarioides if they wanted them. Of course, most of the students also spent a good deal of money on other plants as well!
The flower is small and white, with an interesting, hard to describe, fragrance, and with about 6 to 10 flowers per spike. Just above the logo at the bottom is a Maxillaria camaridii, shown in the next page of the Safari.
