Welcome to Sylvia's
"Photo Friends"
This is the special place at Sylvia's Kitty Condo where we are pleased to be able to share with you some of the very special furry friends who we have met along the course of our dear girls journey. As our "extended family" of friends grows, so too grows the love which fills our family's hearts.
This carpet cuddling handsome friend of our family is Jasper.
With the tender loving assistance of his family, dear Jasper
is bravely battling this difficult part of his nine lives journey.
True to the meaning, leaving the best for last, Jasper
was the last kitten left out of a large litter. He is for certain, a
medical marvel. Jasper was diagnosed with
Diabetes at age 8, restricted to a hypoallergenic diet at age 10, and found to
have VAS at age 11. To date, he has survived the cancer; although,
sacrificing his right rear leg in the process. At age 12, dear Jasper
underwent radioiodine-131 therapy for his hyperthyroidism. Coming
upon his furry 13th birthday now, Jasper is known
in his family as the "Survivor", with SO
much love and life yet to share.
Please say a special prayer for Jasper and his
family in the hope that their dear boy continues to be the furry marvel and
inspiration to his family and those families around the world who share in this
difficult part of their life's journey.
This is a picture of Lucy and
her mom, two very special friends of our family (and her dad as well).
After a long and valiant battle with the sarcoma monster, dear Lucy
has made that heartfelt journey across the Rainbow Bridge.
Dear Angel Lucy was truly blessed to always have
the loving support of her Mom and Dad and furry sister Friday, especially during
that difficult part of her nine lives journey when she was so bravely battling
VAS.
Lucy melted her Mom and Dad's hearts over 8 1/2
years ago when she first cast her loving eyes their way.
Just like her sister Friday and a furry Angel
sibling named Stripey, dear Lucy
had two extra furry toes on each of her front feet!!
Dear Lucy was named after the famous Lucile Ball,
and just like the famous "Lucy," she
never failed to entertain her family and fill their lives with much love and
joy.
Lucy always thought that she was a kitten, as she
loved to
take little balls and drop them down the basement steps so that she could go and
chase
them. She also had other favorite little toys that she enjoyed carrying around. Lucy
was always chasing her tail and she loved to hide in bed and attack her parents feet under the covers.
Lucy was always trying to entice her furry sister Friday
to play with her, but Friday was sometimes grouchy
and often times walked away in a furry huff!! Lucy's
parents always said that if Friday and Lucy
were teenagers,
Lucy would have been a popular cheerleader and Friday would be a studious wallflower and probably an "old maid."
Just like her namesake on the TV show, everybody
loved
Lucy. People that came to visit, even those that don't like cats, ended up loving
Lucy. Lucy loved to follow everyone around like a little puppy,
always wanting to be petted and fussed over.
Please include Lucy's family in your
daily thoughts and prayers in the hope that they find comfort during this
difficult time in their family's live, looking forward to that glorious day in
the future when they will once again be reunited with their beloved Angel girl
in the land of love and comfort.
This furry flower friend of ours is Minx,
who with the loving assistance of her family is bravely battling the sarcoma
monster.
Dear Minx is definitely the lady of the house, as
she prides herself in being more dignified than her furry siblings Tix
(the great white hunter) and Xena (the fat little
knucklehead, hey, her word's not ours!!).
Minx's favorite expression is "We are not amused", but in truth
she is quite amused after rubbing up against the person in their house who is most
allergic to cats, her dad!!
Dear Minx is SO proud of her Mom and Dad as they
are actively helping to carry forth the battle against VAS, in the hope of
helping to prevent others from having to experience the heartache associated
with this terrible disease.
Please include Minx and her family in your thoughts
and prayers in the hope that she is truly one of the miracle kitty's that is
able to win this difficult part of her nine lives journey.
