Welcome to Sylvia's

"Photo Friends"

This is the special place at Sylvia's Kitty Condo where we are pleased to be able to share with you some of the very special furry friends who we have met along the course of our dear girls journey. As our "extended family" of friends grows, so too grows the love which fills our family's hearts.

This cuddling cutie is Chloe, a dear furry friend of ours who with the tender loving assistance of her family is bravely battling the sarcoma monster.
Chloe was a stray little fur baby that adopted her family in 1994. Chloe's fur-fixer estimated her age to be 2 at the time, and she has blessed her family's lives and hearts now for almost 7 years.
Chloe has a large family of furry siblings which consists of 4 feline sisters (Kallie, Misty, Zoey, Fantine), 4 feline brothers (Simba, Lazarus, Noel, Jody), 1 canine sister (Cosette), and 2 canine brothers (Sparky, Buffy).
If you ask her though, Chloe would tell you that she would prefer to be an only child. However, she thrives on attention from humans and loves to greet her Mom's clients when they bring their furry children in for grooming.
Chloe's family is consulting with doctors, researching various treatments and doing a lot of praying during this difficult time in their lives.
Chloe would like everyone to know that her canine sister, Cosette, is a cancer survivor (Osteochondrosarcoma), and she doesn't intend to be shown up by a furball that barks!
Please include dear Chloe and her family in your daily thoughts and prayers in the hope that their dear girl truly becomes one of the miracle kitty's who is able to successfully defeat the sarcoma monster.

This is a picture of Miss Sugar Daisy, a furry friend of ours who cuddles with her family in California.  Miss Sugar Daisy is a one-year-old, black & white tuxedo cat with markings that are rather "cow" like. This little fur baby and her family are waiting to hear whether they are facing the difficult battle against the sarcoma monster.
One day this past April, Sugar's Mom and Dad found this beautiful girl stuck in a big pine tree behind their house. Sugar's new Mom and Dad managed to coax her down, whereupon she ran right up to her Mom, jumped into her arms, put one paw on either side of her neck, gave her a big furry lick, and buried her head in her soon to be Mom's hair, holding on with her little arms as if for dear life.
In trying to name their new furry arrival, her Mom and Dad came up with Daisy, Gateway, Moo, Cow Kitty, among others.  Then her Dad discovered that there's a variety of pine tree called "Sugar," and that seemed perfect for such a sweet cat, who came to them via a pine tree.  So, her family calls her "Sugar," or "Miss Sugar Daisy" when they're being silly!!
Sugar's Mom fell in love with her right then and there. Sugar's Mom and Dad thought she might go back to wherever she came from, but she stayed around the house and couldn't resist taking her in to be an indoor kitty.
Sugar's Mom and Dad have had a lot of cats in their lives, but never one like Sugar.  Sugar wants nothing more than to be with her Mom and Dad, be it cuddling on their shoulders, riding around the house, sleeping with them, or anywhere else as long as she can be right there with them.  Sugar loves to give "hugs" all the time, giving her Mom and Dad little licks on their  noses, chins, and necks.  When Sugar sleeps with her Mom and Dad, she likes it best when she's touching both of them.  Sugar purrs like a locomotive, and is the most gentle kitty imaginable.
Please include dear Sugar and her family in your thoughts and prayers in the hope that they will receive the news that they and their dear girl have successfully avoided a brush with the sarcoma monster.

This handsome feline fur baby is Sammy and his cuddling canine brother is Niko.  Coleen and I are SO very happy to announce that after a close brush with the sarcoma monster, Sammy and his family have now been spared the heartache associated with VAS.  Sammy's mom and dad are to be commended, as they are now setting forth towards helping to carry forth the "effort of education" in the battle against this terrible disease.
Sammy is a precious 4 year old Himalayan. Sammy joined his family when he was just 4 months old, a furry little bundle of curiosity and silliness, even as a kitten! He and Niko became best friends after only one day of sniffing, backing up, and running away from each other! One of their family's greatest joys is in seeing them romping around, rolling on the carpet, and standing on their hind legs, boxing with each other! Sam eats his dinner with his paws, so he can only be fed food that comes in chunks or it gets kind of messy!
Sammy's brother Niko is a darling 7 years old Lhasa Apso who joined his family when he was only 3 months old. He was a very wanted and needed little boy. Sammy's family had recently lost their beloved 10 year old Lhasa, Teddi after a long battle with cancer and their family's aching hearts welcomed little Niko with much love and joy. Sammy has become the wondrous little soul that he is, filled with kindness, love and sweetness, and most definitely is his mama's shadow.
Please include dear Sammy,  Niko and their family in your daily thoughts and prayers in the hope that not only have they forever seen the last of the sarcoma monster, but also that they are successful in their heartfelt attempts towards making a positive difference in carrying forth their "effort of education" in the battle against VAS.
