Eviction is NOT now threatened!

In deepest Surrey, the forces of Babylon have decided in their wisdom to widen and straighten the A320, right through the wooded and open space of Stringer's Common. taking land from an SSSI, "relocating" a pond, destroying more than 220 mature oak trees and many younger trees they didn't even bother to count.

In the fashion of all good road projects, there's also a hidden agenda: the building of two waste incinerators and 300 lorries a day needing to get to them. This widening project is needed for the incinerators to be built at the possible site nearby.

Owing to Surrey County Council's complete lack of funds, the A320 scheme has
apparently been abandoned!
We're waiting for something definite, but it looks like...

• Hairy Mog is located on the A320, Woking Road, about two miles out of Guildford.
• From Guildford town centre follow the signs for Woking along the A320 until you come to an Esso garage on the left-hand side
• The camp is in the woods next to the garage, just after this
• You can get a bus- 34, 48 or 53. It costs just £1 from the bus station behind the Friary centre -
  53: ticket to the "Bellfields estate", get off at Oak Drive, walk forwards and it's on your left.
  34/48: From Guildford to Woodland's Road; this lets you off opposite the garage.
• Guildford B.R. is only about half an hour from Clapham Junction or Waterloo, and there's loads of trains.
