Friends of the Trees Guide to Hawai'i: A Resource Directory to Reforestation, Restoration, Forestry, Agroforestry, Permaculture & Sustainable Agriculture in the Hawaiian Islands

FLASH!!!

AVAILABLE JANUARY 1998

Friends of the Trees Director, Michael Pilarski visited Maui and Hawai'i for three weeks of February, 1996 and offered a Hawai'i permaculture course the end of 1997.

"Being an enthusiastic tree enthusiast, I try to meet other tree enthusiasts when I travel. While there I gave four public presentations (Ka'u and Pahoa on the Big Island, and Kahalui and Ulupalakua on Maui), as well as having private discussions with many people. I talked to over 200 people in all.

I am a collector of information and have a history of producing tree guides to help those who come after me on the tree trail. I have produced tree resource directories for Australia, New Zealand, Belize, and Nepal, as well as a 528-page book Restoration Forestry; An International Guide to Sustainable Forestry Practices.

As a result of my information gathering, I prepared a directory for the Hawaiian Islands. It has over 100 pages and contains over 800 references." It is available now from the Friends of the Trees Society for $21.95."
