JAKARTA (Pos Kota)- Bank of Indonesia employees at Kebon Sirih Street, Central Jakarta, were excited Friday afternoon as a 6 meter long python was found moving along the rain gutter in front of the office.
This python weighing 50 kgs. was found by Suhaemi, 67, a precious stone peddler who happened to pass by Kebon Sirih Street at 10 a.m. but when he was going to catch it, the snake bit his forefinger.
The discovery of this 6 meter long python caused the traffic to slow down. Many motorists slowed down or stopped their vehicles completely to view the snake. To avoid further traffic jams, the security BI guard took the snake inside the bank's yard.
One by one, the bank's employees who were leaving for lunch and Friday prayers took time to look at the animal.
"Hiii....so big, so scary!" said some female employees.
They never thought that such a large snake can be found in a busy central business area in the middle of the city.
Suhaemi told Pos kota that he plans to offer the snake to a few restaurants that usually sell snake meat." Maybe a snake that big will be worth hundreds of thousands of Rupiah" he said hopefully.
