I am moving to Wanganui on 25 May, 1998 because I got a
JOB with the Department of Conservation (that was pretty lucky!) .
I went down to Wanganui last week to look for a flat. Much to my surprise I actually found one. It is rather small inside but there are benfits, which you can see in these pictures. I am standing on the very roomy balcony which streches the length of the flat. The open door leads to the second bedroom (about to become a study). You can see the bathroom window at the end of the terrace. The higher window closer in is the kitchen and closer still (and cut in half) is the living room. You can't see the other bedroom window. The flat is only one room deep and below another flat, whose balcony you can see. Underneath my terrace are two storage rooms, shared between the flats. From my terrace I look down onto the lawn and apple trees and overlook the Wanganui River and township. See pictures below. The view is one of the major benefits [big grin here] and there is a little fireplace to keep me warm. (Well actually, as it turned out, the fireplace is unusable because they have taken down the chimney.) I have gas for cooking and water heating, which is supposed to be cheaper than electicity. Here is hoping, because I am still a penny pinching student at heart, despite the fact that I am moving down here because I got a JOB and will be earning MONEY (what is that stuff?)(I'm learning - too fast.) |
