Ho Phra Ratchaphongsanuson (Rattanakosin Commemorative Chapel)
This small chapel was built by King Rama IV in the mid-19th century to enshrine the small copper images of the Buddha individually dedicated to kings
of the present Dynasty. It is situated on the inner side of the boundary wall at the back of the Assembly Hall. The murals there depict scenes from the early history
of the Rattanakosin Period. They are the work of Khrua In Khong, a monk whose paintings are regarded
by some as master-pieces of Rattanakosin mural art. He was credited with the introduction of western perspective into Thai painting.
Excerpts from the history are inscribed on the gilt lacquer door and window panels.
