3. The Tripitaka Hall
Another one of beautiful buildings in the temple stands at the back towards the west of the Ordination Hall. It was originally the
residence of King Rama I when he was still Phra Rajawarindra when Thon Buri was still the capital.
The outer wall of this hall is painted red. Inside there are murals by Phra Achan Nak who was a well-known artist in the court of
King Rama I. The pictures of human beings resemble those of the mural paintings in the Phutthaisawan Chapel in the Palace to the
Front which is now National Museum, for example the painting of people marching in rows.
It is thus suggested that parts of the murals in the Phutthaisawan Chapel are the work of Phra Achan Nak.
