Wayne's full name is Carmon Wayne Lowe. He was born on October 4, 1940. Wayne and his sister- Dianne Elizabeth, who incidently was also born on October 4th, only 5 years later-1945, were the only children of Carmon Opley Lowe and Mary Elizabeth Gillespie. They were Christian parents and raised their children in the church.
Dianne is married to Al Kuehl and they live in Mentone, Alabama. Their home is what was the summer home of Carmon and Elizabeth. They have remodeled the house and it is gorgeous!
Wayne was raised in the Birmingham area. (We have Alabama in common!) Carmon was a business man and Elizabeth was the devoted housewife. (We have that in common also- the husband worked and the wife kept the home.) We both were raised in the church.
Wayne has also been married and divorced. His ex-wife, Peggy, has married Dennis Peck and still lives in Alabama. Wayne and Peggy have three children: Angie, Blake, and Steffi.
Angelia Aliece was born on May 12, 1967. Angie was married to John William Carter on September 2. They are the proud parents of two boys, John Cole and William Blake. John's birthday is December 24, Cole's birthday is July 7, and William's birthday is June 22. They live in Alabama.
Blake Wayne was born on November 22, 1969. Blake was married to Kim Alyn Gillison on June 7. Kim's birthday is March 14. They have not had children, yet. They also live in Alabama.
Stephanie Elizabeth was born on November 30, 1977. Steffi was married to Kenneth Lee Crow on February 14. They are the proud parents of one son, Kenneth Tyler. Lee's birthday is March 6, 1974 and Tyler's birthday is September 28. They presently live in North Carolina.
Josee Elaine loves Wayne!!
Peggy had been married before Wayne. She was married to Ken Godfrey. Ken is the biological father of Angie and Blake.
Wayne loved them before he adopted them, as he loves Josee Elaine before he adopts her. (Wayne is such a good and loving man!!!)
Wayne has always loved music, but his ability was developed by the choral teacher, Mary McKinnon, at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Jefferson County, Alabama. In the eighth grade, the guidance counselor encouraged Wayne to go into music, probably because the art class was full. Mary McKinnon captured his attention and caused a great interest in music.
In high school, the mixed choral group was hand selected. And most of the singers in the school variety show was from the mixed choral group. But the Lord led Wayne to sign up as a singer in the variety show. His performance was stellar. From here he went on to be the Senior Class Vocalist, performing at all Senior Functions, such as Senior Class Day and graduation.
Wayne recieved a Bachelor of Music Degree from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama. Colleges he has attended are: Samford in Birmingham, University of Montevallo in Birmingham, Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Florida.
Wayne served in church music for 38 years and then went into the public classrooom and taught elementary music for 14 years. At the present, he is serving as Minister of Music at Faith Baptist in Cartersville, Georgia.
