My Holcomb line begins (ends?) with me!, Debra Elaine Holcomb Lowe. I was born in Athens, Georgia. I live in Cartersville, Georgia with my husband, Carmon Wayne Lowe and my daughter, Josee Elaine Gattis Weaver and her husband, William Alan Weaver. And now my grandson, William Alan Weaver the Second!!!!

Josee's father, Joseph Ozel Gattis is deceased. My parents were Winford Honzel Holcomb and Joyce Elaine Chappell and they are also deceased.

Honzel was born February 6, 1924 in Dekalb County, Alabama. He married Joyce May 9, 1947 in Marshall County, Alabama. He died October 9, 1982 at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Hospital. His parents were Curtis Webb Holcomb and Lillie Mae Peterson.

Curt was born September 24, 1897 in Dekalb County, Alabama. He married Lillie November 9, 1919. He died February 7, 1987 in Dekalb County, Alabama. His parents were William Columbus Holcomb and Martha Elizabeth Killpatrick.

William Columbus was born September 15, 1857 in Dekalb County, Alabama. He married Martha in 1877, or thereabouts. He died December 9, 1938 in Dekalb County, Alabama. His parents were William C. Holcomb and Sallie Lane.

William C. was born May 22, 1820 in South Carolina. He married Sallie Lane May 4, 1842 in Benton County, Alabama. He died January 12, 1863 as a result of the War Between The States. His parents were Moses Holcomb and Mary Unk. Moses and Mary's children were: William C., Elizabeth A., and John. John married Mary Lane, Sallie's sister. John and his family and Moses and Mary stayed in Cherokee Co, Al. William C.'s family moved with Elizabeth and her husband, James Floyd, to Sand Mountain. William stayed in Dekalb Co. James Floyd moved his family to Jackson Co, Al.

Moses was born 1802, probably in Spartanburg, SC, and died 1890 in Spring Gardens, Cherokee Co, Al. Mary was born 1803 in SC and died in Cherokee Co, Al. They were married in SC. His parents were Burrell Holcomb and Anne Lively.

Burrell was from South Carolina and was almost full blooded Cherokee. Anne Lively and a group of the Lively family was from Spartanburg, SC. She also was Indian. The only location known for Burrell is Floyd County, Georgia. Little other information.
