The Lane line begins with Sarah "Sallie" Lane. She was married to William C. Holcomb. They married in Benton County, Alabama on December 1843. She was born in 1826 in East Tennessee. She was of Cherokee Indian blood. She died on February 1905 in Dekalb County, Alabama.
