HiThere! This is my Revolutionary War Page. Trying to find all the info I can. Read what I have and if you can add more or just want to comment, please let me know!!
I think its best to do research with a purpose besides just knowledge, something with a reward-an accomplishment. Membership in clubs based on genealogy has been my reward. Like I said on my Civil War Page, I've joined The United Daughters of the Confederacy on WA Phillips and I've applied to join The Daughters of the American Revolution on, David Kimbell.
The Kimbells are an old and reknowned family. It was easy to do genealogy on this line. I have several "cousins" I email. There is also a Kimball/Kimbell WebRing, Teresa is over this and other genealogical things. She is a very good resource.
There is a Kimball family book that has been published and reprinted. The original is on Family Tree Maker, old Settlers or something like that. I've heard the reprint isn't as good as the original. I don't know, haven't seen it.
David moved from Virginia to Georgia after the Revolution. He obtained grants for land in many sites in Georgia. He finially came to Henry County to live with his son. It seems he lived with other children in his later life. He apparently gave most of his land to his children before his death, so it wasn't involved in his will.
I'll try to get more of his military info and put it here. If you want to see more of the info I have on David Kimbell, go to my Kimbell Page!!
I've got info on other relatives that were or possibly were in the Revolution. Please come back and I'll try to have it up!!
