Last week the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJ TPA) commenced its 1-month public comment period for all amendments to the FY99 "Transportation Improvement Program," including an amendment that would start Bergen Arches project.

Comments will be taken until February 15. The TPA will then hold a "Project Prioritization" meeting on February 22nd, and will finalize the amendments at the full TPA Board meeting on March 8.

The Bergen Arches project would construct a new freeway from the NJ Turnpike in Secaucus to the Jersey City waterfront and Holland Tunnel.
